HC Deb 14 May 1907 vol 174 c790
MR. J. M. ROBERTSON

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, why, seeing that Friday is the Moslem day of rest, there is not the same restriction of hours on that day as on Sundays in the postal service at Cairo and Alexandria; and whether the Customs offices are closed on Sundays and open on Fridays.

SIR EDWARD GREY

I do not know what the facts are, and I am not aware that any complaint has been made on the points referred to in the Question. But it is clearly a matter which must be left to the discretion of the Egyptian Government.
