HC Deb 09 May 1907 vol 174 cc348-9
MR. W. BENN (Tower Hamlets, St. George's)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to the case of Hugh Craig, who, after serving in the Army Hospital Corps in 1882, and subsequently in 1900 in the Imperial Yeomanry at Pretoria, where he was injured, was discharged from Netley in receipt of 3s. 6d. a day, in addition to an original pension of 1s.; whether the 3s. 6d. has now been stopped; if so, for what reason; and whether he can see his way to have it continued.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) This man, on admission to the Herbert Hospital to consider his claim to a renewal of his temporary pension, refused to submit himself to sufficient medical examination. It is not, therefore, possible to consider his claim to further pension. He has been repeatedly informed to this effect.
