HC Deb 06 May 1907 vol 173 c1353
MR. MORTON (Sutherland)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether his attention has been drawn to the poisoning of the crofters' dogs in the neighbourhood of Badininish, Skelbo, Sutherland; whether he is aware that a dog is absolutely necessary to the crofter; will he take steps to put an end to this persecution of crofters; and is he aware that putting poison about may be a danger to human beings as well as animals.

MR. SINCLAIR

I am informed that five dogs have died apparently by poison, and it is said the farmers have suffered heavily through lamb-worrying. There is, However, no charge against anyone and no evidence. If any complaint is made against anybody it will be investigated in the usual way by the Procurator Fiscal.
