§ MR. ALDEN (Middlesex, Tottenham)To ask the President of the Local Government Board whether it is necessary, under any Order of his Department, that all married applicants for medical relief should produce a marriage certificate; and, if not, whether he is aware that the Kensington Board of Guardians make this a condition for granting such relief; and what action he proposes to take in this matter.
§ (Answered by Mr. John Burns.) There is no order of the Local Government Board requiring married applicants for medical relief to produce a marriage certificate. I am making inquiry as to the practice of the Kensington Board of Guardians in this matter.
