HC Deb 18 March 1907 vol 171 cc447-8
MR. JAMES O'CONNOR

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will see that the place on the Board of National Education, left vacant by the death of the late Judge Carton, will be filled by the appointment of someone who is qualified to represent the interests of that section of the people whose children have to acquire their education in the schools under the National Board.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The question of appointing a successor to the late Judge Carton on the Board of National Education is now under consideration. The hon. Member may, I think, rest assured that a suitable appointment will be made.
