HC Deb 18 March 1907 vol 171 c448
MR. SLOAN

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland how many Protestants and Roman Catholics of all ranks are there in the Dublin metropolitan police force; and the number allotted to each of the several divisions.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Chief Commissioner informs me that there are in all ranks of the Dublin metropolitan police force 995 Roman Catholics and 195 Protestants (including thirty-four Presbyterians and seven Methodists). The religious persuasion of the men is not taken into account in allocating them to the various divisions.
