HC Deb 27 June 1907 vol 177 c88
MR. PATRICK WHITE (Meath, N.)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that James M'Connon, aged seventeen years and five months, enlisted in the Royal Irish Fusiliers without his parents' consent; and whether, having regard to the fact that his father, Mr. T. M'Connon, of Slane, county Meath, has claimed his discharge from the Army and that the boy is anxious to be released, he will order his discharge.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) These matters are dealt with by the local military authorities in accordance with the King's Regulations, and the. Army Council does not interfere with their discretion.
