HC Deb 27 June 1907 vol 177 c120
MR. BARRIE (Londonderry, N.)

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether he will state what were the annual Returns of postal matter dealt with in Limavady post office from 1895 to 1906 inclusive.

MR. SYDNEY BUXTON

The complete Returns of postal matter dealt with at the Limavady office for the years in question are not available. The delivered correspondence, however, showed a fairly steady increase from 1895 till 1905, since which date it has fallen off.

MR. SLOAN

Then it was not because of a decrease of work that the office was reduced from the status of a head office?

MR. SYDNEY BUXTON

No, but because it was thought that better control could be exercised from Deny.
