HC Deb 25 June 1907 vol 176 cc1123-4
MR. JAMES O'CONNOR (Wicklow, W.)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that in a number of post offices there has been a paper transfer of postmen from head to sub-offices, no difference being made in duties, the only alteration being that the men now receive their wages at the sub-office instead of at the head office; and whether he will state if, in the event of the pay at the head office being raised and the pay at the sub-office remaining stationary, this paper transfer will deprive the men of the benefits they would have received otherwise.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.)I am not aware of any transfers of the kind described by the hon. Member, but if he will furnish me with particulars I will have inquiry made and will communicate with him further.
