§ MR. WATTI beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will limit the amount of annual income to £2,000, or other figure, from which insurance premiums up to one-sixth are allowed to be deducted before paying income-tax; and if he will bring this into the Finance Bill of this session.
§ MR. ASQUITHThe concession is one of long standing, and I do not see my way to proposing any modification of it in the Finance Bill now before Parliament.
