HC Deb 17 June 1907 vol 176 c115
MR. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)

To ask the Secretary for Scotland, seeing that the English steam trawler "Franconia" was recently seized by a German torpedo boat for illegal trawling in German waters, will he consider the expediency of applying to the Admiralty for similar assistance, especially in view of the fact that the Fishery Board and the Admiralty cruisers at the disposal of the Fishery Board for Scotland cannot adequately cope with the illegal trawling round the coasts of Scotland.

(Answered by Mr. Sinclair. )No, Sir. There is no intention at present of applying for such assistance.
