HC Deb 10 June 1907 vol 175 c1059
MR. YOXALL (Nottingham, W.)

To ask the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that the managers of the Broughton national school, Hants, have appointed as assistant teacher in that school a young man possessing no recognised educational qualifications or school experience, and formerly employed as gardener, groom, and general helper to week-end visitors; and whether he can inquire, into the circumstances of this case and will take the necessary steps to prevent the appointment and employment of unqualified persons as teachers in schools maintained out of public funds.

(Answered by Mr. McKenna.) I will make inquiries as to the sufficiency and efficiency of the staff employed at this school.
