HC Deb 04 June 1907 vol 175 c500
MR. LONSDALE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will state what sum is at present available for advances to purchasers under the Land Purchase Act of 1903; and when it is proposed to make a fresh issue of Irish land stock.

MR. ASQUITH

Money is at present being supplied to the Irish Land Purchase. Fund by temporary loans from funds in the hands of the National Debt Commissioners, as and when required, as provided by Section 30 of the Irish Land Act, 1903. This answers the Question just put by the hon. Member for York. There is no present intention of making a public issue of stock.

MR. LONSDALE

Can the right hon. Gentleman say what sums are lying to the credit of the Estates Commissioners?

MR. ASQUITH

I cannot say without notice.
