HC Deb 29 July 1907 vol 179 cc440-1
MR. BARRIE (Londonderry, N.)

To ask the Postmaster-General what is the cause of the delay in the giving of telephonic facilities to Buncrana and Fahan; and when does the Postmaster-General now expect the service to be available.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) The delay in providing the telephone line between Londonderry and Buncrana is due to wayleave difficulties, which have prevented the erection of the line on the railway as proposed. It has now been found necessary to erect a new pole line on the public road; permission for its erection has been sought from the county council, and, after it has been received, it is feared that four months must elapse before the work can be completed.
