§ MR. DUNN (Cornwall, Camborne)I beg to ask the Prime Minister if he is aware that a number of Members of the present Parliament have been returned at elections in which the majority of the electors voting thereat have recorded votes against their return by voting in favour of other candidates, and that since the last General Election five Members have been so returned at bye elections; and whether he will consider the advisability of promoting remedial legislation.
§ SIR. H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMANI believe that the facts are as stated by my hon. friend; and when the time arrives for dealing with the various matters affecting our electoral system which stand in need of change, the question of remedying the state of things to which he calls my attention will, no doubt, receive due consideration.
