SIR GILBERT PARKERI beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade what percentage of the total importation of raw sugar in 1900 was represented by beetroot sugar and what percentage by cane sugar; and what proportion of the total importation was represented by beet sugar and cane sugar, respectively, in 1906.
§ MR. KEARLEYImports of unrefined beetroot sugar amounted to 77˙4 per cent. of the total imports of unrefined sugar in 1900 and to 72˙0 per cent. in 1906. The great bulk of the remainder consisted of cane sugar.
