HC Deb 03 July 1907 vol 177 c695
MR. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board, in view of the fact that the Estimates show that, under sub-head R of the Local Government Board Vote, a salary of £500 per annum is paid to a temporary medical inspector, will he explain how long this temporary appointment has been in existence.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. JOHN BURNS,) Battersea

The appointment has been in existence since June, 1905. It was made because one of the permanent medical inspectors is at present acting as inspector for the purposes of the administration of the Sale of Food and Drugs Acts.
