§ MR. FFRENCHI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware the Boxwell evicted tenants have not yet been restored to their homes, although the inspector visited the estate last January; and whether he can hold out any hope of an immediate settlement.
§ MR. BIRRELLThe owner of the estate referred to has intimated to the Estates Commissioners that he will only deal with the question of reinstating the evicted tenants upon the sale of the estate as a whole. The Commissioners are at present making inquiries with a view to the purchase of the estate, and if they should acquire it they will consider the cases of the evicted tenants.
