§ SIR HENRY COTTONI beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether any report has been received from the Government of India regarding the prevalence and character of judicial floggings in India; and, if so, whether orders have been passed on that Report; and whether there is any objection to laying Papers upon the Table.
§ MR. MORLEYI have addressed a despatch to the Government of India on the subject of flogging, and I am informed that I shall probably receive their reply in about a month's time.
