HC Deb 27 August 1907 vol 182 c384
MR. FLAVIN (Kerry, N.)

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury if he has any official information showing that, in bonded warehouses in England, new raw grain spirit from Liverpool distilleries is frequently blended in large vats with a few casks of spirits from Scotland, some buckets of burnt sugar added, and the mixture sold as mild old Irish whiskey; and, if so, what steps are being taken to stop this fraud on the English public.

(Answered by Mr. Runciman.) I have consulted the Customs and inland Revenue, and neither of them is aware of any case answering to the hon. Member's description.
