HC Deb 26 August 1907 vol 182 cc124-5
MR. BOLAND (Kerry, S.)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, with a view to ensuring complete accuracy in the official publication by the Irish Department of Agriculture of Irish exports, he will represent to the self-governing and other Colonies the necessity of recording, as far as possible, the imports from Ireland; and whether, if it is not found to be practicable to do this forthwith, efforts will be made to give such information in their annual Reports as will be of use to the Irish Department and to Irish traders.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) The Government of Canada has reported that the separation of imports of Irish produce in the Canadian Trade Returns is deemed to be impracticable, and under the circumstances I see no advantage in pressing other Colonies to make this change. There is no reason to believe that any Colony omits from its Reports information likely to be of value to any part of the United Kingdom, without distinction.
