JOHN O'CONNOR (Kildare, N.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any official information showing that the King of Denmark has issued a decree empowing the Danish Islands Commission to take the necessary steps for granting complete autonomy to Iceland, allowing the inhabitants to retain their civic rights as Danish subjects, and abandoning the power hitherto vested in the king of nominating one-sixth of the legislative body as well as the Minister who was at the head of the administration; and, if so, whether he will lay it upon the Table.
