HC Deb 05 August 1907 vol 179 c1561
MR. BOWLES

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he can now give the House any information as to the steps which he has taken to secure the adoption of the recommendations of the Select Committee on Procedure (Anticipatory Motions).

SIR H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

I am sorry to say that on inquiry I find that a new Standing Order could not be adopted without considerable discussion. It is therefore impossible to proceed with the matter during the present session. The hon. Member will remember that my promise in relation to the Question was given on the condition that it would be possible to pass a new Standing Order with the assent of all parts of the House.
