HC Deb 02 August 1907 vol 179 cc1382-3
SIR WALTER NUGENT (Westmeath, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will call the attention of the Estates Commissioners for Ireland to the fact that there is a quantity of untenanted land in the vicinity of Drumraney, county Westmeath, which the owners are willing to sell and the neighbouring people most anxious to buy; and if he will advise the Commissioners to have the said lands inspected with a view to purchase at the earliest possible date.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners are not aware to what particular lands the Question refers. If the hon. Baronet will furnish the names of the owners, the Commissioners will consider the question of communicating with them with a view to purchase the lands, if this has not already been done.
