HC Deb 23 April 1907 vol 172 cc1548-9
MR. HART-DAVIES (Hackney, N.)

To ask the Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been called to the fact that in March, 1904, eleven resident magistrates were appointed in Sind to form a separate service, and that a protest was received from the Sind Hindu Sabha, on 27th November, 1906, against recent orders amalgamating these appointments with the Revenue Department; and whether, considering the desirability generally of separating judicial and executive functions, he will consider the expediency of reverting to the arrangements of 1904.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Morley.) I have no information as to the recent orders mentioned, but I will inquire.
