HC Deb 22 April 1907 vol 172 c1432
MR. T. L. CORBETT (Down, N.)

On behalf of the hon. Member for North Fermanagh, I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether any regulations have been made to enable persons desirous of taking advantage of Section 2 of the Land Purchase (Ireland) Act, 1891, to do so by purchase and transfer of Guaranteed Land Stock through the Post Office; if not, will he give the matter his early attention, and will he see that the regulations are duly published at post offices, such as Boyle and Castlerea, county Roscommon, and others, where there are many persons who could usefully avail themselves of the advantages of Section 2.

MR. SYDNEY BUXTON

No regulations have been made by the Treasury under the Section mentioned by the hon. Member, but I understand that they are communicating with the various Departments concerned in order to ascertain whether, having regard to the manner in which the stock is held and to the fact that it is not freely purchasable any regulations for transfer could be usefully made.
