HC Deb 17 April 1907 vol 172 c948
MR. ASHLEY (Lancashire, Blackpool)

To ask the President of the Board of Education if he has received applications from any local education authorities to spread over a period of years the cost of structural and sanitary improvements of their provided schools.

(Answered by Mr. John Burns.) Perhaps I may be allowed to answer this Question. A good many local education authorities have applied to the Local Government Board for sanction to loans to meet the cost of structural and sanitary improvements in provided schools, and sanction has frequently been given to such loans.
