HC Deb 15 April 1907 vol 172 cc608-9
MR. MACKARNESS

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether it is the intention of the postal authorities to order the removal of the Woodlands St. Mary post office, in South Berks, from the central position it now occupies to a position on the extreme edge of the parish, which will involve many of the inhabitants walking upwards of two miles to reach it; and, if so, what are the reasons for the proposed change, and what steps will be taken to meet the inconvenience imposed upon the inhabitants, especially in regard to parcels and postal orders, by the proposed change.

MR. SYDNEY BUXTON

As I have explained to the hon. Member by letter in full detail, I believe that the proposed arrangements will be for the general convenience of the district.
