§ MR. BOTTOMLEYI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will direct that the one year's imprisonment, to which the sentence upon Hugh Watt has been reduced, shall count from the commencement of the sessions at which he was convicted. Will the right hon. Gentleman also direct that Watt shall have the benefit of the marks he has earned for good conduct whilst in prison?
§ *MR. GLADSTONEHugh Watt's term of detention before his release on licence will, subject of course to his good conduct, be one year from the first day of the sessions at which he was convicted, namely, the 11th of December, 1905. I have decided to advise this great lenience on the assumption that his 885 conduct will be good. I cannot add anything further to it on that account.
