MR. REES (Montgomery Boroughs)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the Corporations Consolidation Bill passed by the Natal Parliament deprives British Indians; resident in the Colony of the municipal franchise; and whether the Colonial Office will represent to the Government of Natal the hardship thus entailed upon civilised and loyal citizens and British subjects.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) I would refer the hon. Member to the reply made by me yesterday to a similar Question I asked by the lion. Member for the Ripon Division of Yorkshire.†
