HC Deb 26 November 1906 vol 165 cc1234-5
MR. LONSDALE (Armagh, Mid.)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he is in a position to state that in the new Canadian tariff the preference hitherto granted by the Dominion to British goods will be retained.

MR. RUNCIMAN

I have received no official intimation of the intentions of Canadian Ministers, but I understand that a revision of the Canadian tariff will shortly be submitted to the Dominion Parliament, and that it is proposed to retain the principle of preference to British goods.
