HC Deb 15 November 1906 vol 165 c101
MR. BOTTOMLEY (Hackney, S.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether consular work at Constantinople has increased so largely as to necessitate the presence of a consul general, a consul, two vice-consuls, and a bevy of clerks; and, if so, what are the reasons for such increase.

SIR EDWARD GREY

There has been no increase on the staff of His Majesty's Consulate-General at Constantinople during the last ten years.
