§ MR. W. HOPE (Somersetshire, N.)To ask the President of the Local Government Board if he is aware that, owing to the provisions of the Mid-wives Act, 1902, urgent necessity exists in many counties for training properly qualified midwives; and whether the Government will introduce a Bill to enable the county councils to contribute to such training, either out of the general county fund or out of funds set apart for purposes of higher education.
