§ MR.. SWIFT MACNEILL (Donegal, S.)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether it is the intention of the Government, having regard to incidents connected with the trial of the Great Yarmouth election petition and the public feeling aroused thereby, to introduce in 1066 the next session a measure calculated by the amendment and modification of the Election Petitions Acts to lessen the danger of miscarriages of justice and to provide further security against corruption in Parliamentary elections.
§ SIR H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMANI think it must be generally felt that there is room for improvement in the Election Petition Acts, but I cannot give any undertaking at the moment.
