HC Deb 07 November 1906 vol 164 c559
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland, in view of the fact that the Small Landholders (Scotland) Bill will meet the pressing grievances of 20,389 occupiers of agricultural holdings in the Highland crofting counties whose rentals do not exceed £30, and of 1,100 occupiers of agricultural holdings in those counties whose rentals are above £30 and do not exceed £50, will he state when he proposes to proceed with the Bill.

MR. SINCLAIR

The Prime Minister authorises me to say that he hopes to give the House an opportunity of reading this Bill a second time on an early day.

MR. WEIR

May I ask if the right hon. Gentleman intends to proceed with the Bill this session?

MR. SINCLAIR

We will deal with each stage as it comes.

LOUD BALCARRES (Lancashire, Chorley)

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman if we shall have the promised information from the committees referred to yesterday before we have to discuss the Second Reading of this Bill?

MR. SINCLAIR

I doubt it.
