HC Deb 05 November 1906 vol 164 c89
MR. HAET-DAVIES (Hackney, X.)

To ask the Secretary of State for India whether he has received a memorial from the Fourteenth Madras Provincial Conference, held at Tinnevelly in June last, praying that steps might be taken with as little delay as possible to secure the separation of judicial from executive functions, and whether, seeing that in 1903 the then Viceroy intimated that the question would be dealt with shortly, he will take such measures as may be necessary to bring about this reform in Indian administration as speedily as possible.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Morley.)The memorial referred to has not boon received by me. I addressed the Government of India on the 22nd June last, asking them to let me have their conclusions on the subject as soon as possible.
