HC Deb 05 November 1906 vol 164 cc89-90
MR. MURPHY (Kerry, E.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland what steps the Estates Commissioners have taken to effect the reinstatement of Mr. Daniel O'Shea in his evicted form on the estate of the Earl of Kenmare, near Killarney; whether this evicted farm is in the landlord's own possession, and if there are any other difficulties in the way of reinstatement but those created by the landlord's agent, Mr. Maurice Leonard; and whether the Commissioners can now state the exact position of affairs in connection with the case.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Estates Commissioners inform me that they have; had the evicted farm in this case inspected, with a view to the reinstatement of the evicted tenant. The Commissioners understand that the farm is in the land-lord's occupation. The inspection was made with the consent of the agent, Mr. Leonard. The Commissioners have recently received their inspector's report and will deal with it as soon as possible.
