BETHELL (Essex, Maldon)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to the present rifle range at Maldon, and, seeing that the War Office inspector has approved a new proposed range, whether he will consider the desirability of recommending the Treasury to defray one-half (£225) the estimated cost of this range.
§ *MR. HALDANEMy attention has been drawn to this matter. The whole of the money that was available under the Military Works Loans for contributions in aid to Volunteer ranges has already been allocated and no further grants can be made from this source. I can hold out no hope whatever of any provision being made in Army Estimates for such a purpose.
