HC Deb 21 May 1906 vol 157 c913
SIR J. JARDINE

To ask the Secretary of State for India whether two inspectors of police, originally appointed by the Chief Commissioner of Burma, are, or will be, transferred to the Bombay Presidency; and whether they are to be graded above superintendents of police in the Bombay Presidency who were appointed by the Secretary of State after passing examinations.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Morley.) I have no information as to the transfer of police officers mentioned in the Question, but I would refer my hon. friend to the Answer given by me on the 14th instant to a Question by the hon. Member for Hull dealing with a similar matter, † As I then stated, it is open to any officer who considers himself aggrieved to memorialise the Government of India and the Secretary of State in Council.
