JARDINETo ask the Secretary of State for India whether two inspectors of police, originally appointed by the Chief Commissioner of Burma, are, or will be, transferred to the Bombay Presidency; and whether they are to be graded above superintendents of police in the Bombay Presidency who were appointed by the Secretary of State after passing examinations.

I have no information as to the transfer of police officers mentioned in the Question, but I would refer my hon. friend to the Answer given by me on the 14th instant to a Question by the hon. Member for Hull dealing with a similar matter, † As I then stated, it is open to any officer who considers himself aggrieved to memorialise the Government of India and the Secretary of State in Council.
