HC Deb 03 May 1906 vol 156 c712
* MR. REES (Montgomery Boroughs)

. I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether Madras and the United Provinces are to continue, in respect of their provincial contracts with the Government of India, to receive a quarter share of their growing revenues, plus an additional assignment, as compared with the half share of growing revenues enjoyed by other provinces under the like contracts.

MR. JOHN MORLEY

The provincial settlements are made after full discussion in each case between the Government of India and the Provincial Government; and so far as I am aware it is not at present intended that the settlements which were made in 1904 with Madras and the United Provinces shall be modified.
