HC Deb 03 May 1906 vol 156 c744
MR. BRIDGEMAN (Shropshire, Oswestry)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury when the House will be in possession of the measures promised in the gracious Speech from the Throne, dealing with the social and economic conditions of the rural districts in Great Britain, by which a larger number of the population is to be attracted to and retained on the soil.

SIR H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

The answer to the hon. Gentleman's Question is that no measures of the kind were promised in the King's Speech. The inquiries into the economic conditions of the rural districts to which allusion was made are still proceeding.
