I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will lay upon the Table any representations of the inhabitants of the Island of St. Helena as to the proposed withdrawal of troops from the island.

MR. CHURCHILL

As I informed the hon. Member in reply to his Question of the 27th instant, f no such representations have as yet been received, except the telegram from the Governor, the purport of which was fully stated in my Answer.

MR. HICKS BEACH

asked if the representations, should they be received, would be laid on the Table?

MR. CHURCHILL
