HC Deb 22 March 1906 vol 154 c579
MR. SLOAN

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that on 1st October last the 9 a.m. mail despatched from Muckamore was withdrawn and a despatch at 7.20 p.m. substituted, with inconvenience to the inhabitants of the district; and whether, seeing that the 9 a.m. despatch was established for thirty years, and a memorial has been presented for its continuance, he will consider the advisability of restoring the morning despatch.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) There was reason to believe at the time when the change referred to was introduced that it would be acceptable to the residents generally; but I will have further inquiry made, and, if I find that the new arrangement is not giving satisfaction, I will consider the question of reverting to the old arrangement.
