HC Deb 22 March 1906 vol 154 c597
COLONEL KENYON-SLANEY (Shropshire, Newport)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the cost of maintaining the bands of Militia regiments falls very heavily on the officers; and whether, therefore, he is prepared to increase substantially the allowance now made for that purpose.

(Answered by Mr. Haldane.) The present band allowance of £25 was granted in 1899. No complaints, of the nature alluded to in the Question, have reached the War Office. No increase of the allowance is at present contemplated.
