HC Deb 12 March 1906 vol 153 c862
MR. WILLIAM REDMOND (Clare, E.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can state how many evicted tenants are in county Clare; and whether he will see, in the interests of peace and good feeling in Ireland, that every effort is made for the reinstatement of all evicted tenants on fair and reasonable terms.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The Estates Commissioners inform me that they have received 203 applications for reinstatement from evicted tenants in county Clare. The Commissioners are about to make inquiries into the circumstances of all such applicants, and they are doing all in their power, under the provisions of the law, to proceed with the reinstatement of evicted tenants.
