HC Deb 12 March 1906 vol 153 c928
MR. LEA (St. Pancras, E.)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether his attention has. been called to the insanitary condition of Little Clarendon Street, Somers Town; and whether he will direct the attention of the St. Pancras Borough Council, with a view to dealing with this under the Housing of Working Classes Acts, 1890 to 1903.

MR. JOHN BURNS

I have communicated with the Town Clerk and am informed that hitherto the property in this street has been dealt with by the Borough Council under the Public Health (London) Act, and that a large number of notices are being served from time to' time requiring the owners to maintain the property in a sanitary condition. The question of dealing with the property under the Housing of the Working Classes; Acts appears not to have been brought under the consideration of the Council. I have requested that this may be done and that the Medical Officer of Health may be instructed to report on the subject.
