HC Deb 12 March 1906 vol 153 c877
MR. GINNELL (Westmeath, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland, will His Majesty'e Government, in preparing the promised legislation for Irish workers, provide special facilities for allocating untenanted land for this purpose under Section 4 of the Land Act of 1903, and for obtaining money at low interest for the building of cottages on land so allocated; and will the limit of area on such land be widened, the qualification made to include all who do manual work, whether skilled or unskilled, and the allottee enabled to become owner like any other purchaser.

(Answered by Mr. Bryce.) The points raised in this Question will receive careful consideration upon the drafting of the Labourers' Bill which I am to introduce. I am not, however, prepared to make any statement as to the provisions of the Bill pending its introduction.
