HC Deb 07 March 1906 vol 153 c443
SIR GILBERT PARKER (Gravesend)

May I ask the Under-Secretary for the Colonies if the Government have any fresh information with respect to the native rising in Natal? Can he say what prospects there are of an early pacification?

* MR. CHURCHILL

The information which has been received by the Secretary of State has been practically to the same effect as that which has appeared in the newspapers. The last telegram, dated March 5th, reported the capture of the chief Gobizembe and the surrender of four chiefs, several headmen, and about 300 natives, and stated that the officer commanding hoped to complete the sweeping operations successfully.
