TOULMIN (Bury, Lancashire)To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will state the average retail price, at intervals, of sugar in any convenient unit (1 lb. or 7 lb.) in London, Paris, or Berlin respectively from January 1903 to January 1906, and the amount of import duty in each country at the time.
(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) If the hon. Member will move for a Return showing, with regard to London, Paris, and Berlin, the price of sugar and the duty levied thereon at 1st March, 1903, 1904, 1905, and 1906, on the lines of the Return No. 174 of 1905, I shall be happy to grant it.
