HC Deb 06 March 1906 vol 153 c275
MR. ALDEN (Middlesex, Tottenham)

To ask the Postmaster-General, in connection with the proposed Committee on Post Office servants, whether the class of overseers in provincial offices is to be regarded as belonging to the supervising and clerical force whose wages and position it is not intended should be inquired into by the Committee.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) The duties of overseers in provincial offices are, to a great extent, of a supervisory character, and it was not my intention to include them among the classes covered by the reference to the Committee.
